Tartarus uses bbPress at the core of its forum technology with many alterations to fit our users needs. Unique plugins such as the personal word filter allow you to choose how you receive the information others post.
Through your profile you can also chose whether you wish to use the normal mode or a compact mode of the theme. This is for the benefit of mobile and netbook users who do not wish to use mobile Tartarus and those that like to see more content on their screens.
The administration team loves to hear your suggestions and ideas on how to improve the site and many ideas have been implemented at the request of users.
History
The site and community that is Tartarus began on a free-hosted forum as a response to the policies of a now deceased forum.
After about a year it was decided that the true potential of the site and community required better forum software and themes to continue. As a result Tartarus.co.nz was born.
